Personr and IPA Partner to Support Accountants Ahead of AML Tranche Two Deadline

March 3, 2026

Australia, 03/03/26:

Personr has entered into a new partnership with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) to support accountants as Australia’s anti-money laundering (AML) obligations expand under the Tranche Two reforms.

The partnership brings together Personr’s AML and identity expertise with the IPA’s national membership network, focusing on improving awareness, understanding, and practical readiness across the accounting profession.

As part of the collaboration, Personr will participate in IPA-led events and education initiatives across the country, supporting members ahead of the July 1 Tranche Two commencement date.

Personr Co-Founder and CEO Charlie Westerman said the partnership reflects a shared focus on helping accountants navigate regulatory change without unnecessary complexity.

“Tranche Two will move AML from a ‘nice to have’ to a ‘must have’ for accountants, and that’s a big shift for practices of all sizes. The IPA is uniquely positioned to lead that transition for its members, and Personr’s role is to support that leadership with practical AML education through events, workshops, and member-focused initiatives,” Mr Westerman said.

“By partnering with IPA’s education and advocacy, we can help firms go beyond ticking boxes, embedding AML compliance as a normal, sustainable part of how they serve clients and manage risk.”

As part of the partnership, Personr will attend and support a range of key IPA events, including:

  • IPA Western Australia State Event
  • IPA Victoria State Event
  • IPA National Congress
  • Sponsorship and attendance of IPA AML Workshops
  • Plus more throughout the year

These events will provide IPA members with opportunities to engage directly with AML specialists, gain practical insights into real-world compliance challenges, and build confidence in applying AML principles within accounting practices of all sizes.

A spokesperson from the Institute of Public Accountants said:

“As Tranche Two approaches, it’s critical that accountants have access to clear, practical guidance. This partnership with Personr supports our focus on helping members understand their obligations and prepare with confidence,” the spokesperson said.

Personr’s platform and expertise are designed to support professionals through the full AML lifecycle, from customer due diligence and risk assessment through to ongoing monitoring and record keeping.

Through education-led engagement, the partnership aims to simplify AML requirements and help accountants embed strong compliance practices without disrupting client service.

“As Tranche Two approaches, many accountants are facing new AML obligations with limited clarity on what practical compliance looks like,” said Personr co-founder Nick Ahrens.

“Partnering with the IPA allows us to combine trusted, profession-led education with practical tools that help accountants understand what’s required and implement AML in a way that fits their practice. Our focus is helping firms move forward with confidence, not complexity.”
